Can a title be issued in the name if a minor?

Yes. There is no statutory age limit of ownership of a motor vehicle, mobile home, or vessel.

The following is a list of those authorized to sign the application for certificate of title for the minor (under 18 years of age).

  • The minor.
  • The minor’s natural guardian.
  • The minor’s appointed guardian. The letters of guardianship must be submitted with the application.

Age requirements for online written exams

Can anyone who needs to, regardless of age, take the written exams online?

Applicants  15 to 17 years of age are allowed to take the Class E written exams through the Third Party Administrator’s online application or in a proctored classroom setting.

Applicants 18 years or older are allowed to take the Class E written exams in a classroom setting at the Third Party Administrator’s physical location.
